Gravity Day

I left the beach party on Positive Day a little after 11, partly because it was my bedtime, but also because I was getting sunburned.   The next day started with a bang.

In the wee minutes of Wednesday, December 10, gravity overcame the strength of ice on the edge of the Canada Glacier and an enormous piece of the west flank, collapsed, about 100 meters from my tent, just as I was dozing off.   My logical mind quickly worked out that whatever it was could not reach my tent, but I was still up and unzipping the tent flap as the crashing subsided.

Rae and Renee, with pilot Keith, about to defy gravity on Gravity Day.
